Although all of us were excitedly anticipating HHC’s unique, nostalgic Liberation Ball on May 3, it has become clear that our only responsible choice is to cancel the ball. We have made the difficult decision to do that. Humanity is in our name and it would be unsafe for the community and contrary to our mission to gather hundreds at Union Terminal on May 3.
The Holocaust & Humanity Center planned the Liberation Ball to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of the war while marking the 20th anniversary of HHC. We are redirecting our energy to offer an all-encompassing digital package for sponsors and ticket holders, which will showcase and celebrate the perseverance and resilience of the survivors and World War II veterans.
We hope that we will be able to celebrate together in an even larger capacity in 2021. With everyone’s support, we are able to touch the hearts and minds of more than 200,000 people annually. We can’t do this without you. We encourage you to support the mission of the center during this critical time. We thank you for your ongoing support of our work. If you have questions regarding the Liberation Ball or ticketing refunds, please e-mail Trinity Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
